Evelyn Oldfield Unit: Last Month

Last month we had two workshops on understanding welfare reforms and social enterprise. One of the women that participated in the social enterprise workshop said she "would use the energy of this session and the inspiration to put my knowledge and idea to achieve positive social impact!"

A new Charter of Rights of Women Seeking Asylum campaign!

"As charities and voluntary organisations we know the value of volunteering. Volunteering means people independently choosing to give their time freely to help others and make the world a better place. Workfare schemes force unemployed people to carry out unpaid work or face benefit sanctions that can cause hardship and destitution.   We believe in keeping volunteering voluntary and will not participate in government workfare schemes."

John Major praises 'guts and drive' of immigrants in the UK

John Major praises 'guts and drive' of immigrants in the UK Comments: Mr John Major  is right about migrants in the UK and worldwide. Most of  migrants  leave their countries as asylum seekers fleeing persecution, lack of freedom and human rights abuses. Other leave their countries just to look for new opportunities.
